In August 2019, British Airways celebrated 100 years of flight. Since we launched the first ever scheduled air service on 25 August 1919, we have grown to become one of the world’s leading airlines.
Today, a British Airways aircraft takes off every nine seconds – that means we fly 123,000 customers to destinations across the globe every day. Exceptional quality and service are the cornerstones of the British Airways brand and we are consistently working to make our customers’ journey better.
This year sees the launch of our hotly anticipated Airbus A350 airbus, offering a next generation in-flight experience. With more room, ambient lighting and a cabin pressure equivalent to an altitude of just 6,000 feet, this state-of-the-art aircraft promises a more restful journey. What’s more, its 25% lower fuel burn will significantly reduce CO2 emissions too.
Our new Club Suite cabin is being rolled out across selected aircraft to destinations including Bangalore, Dubai and Toronto. With more space, a larger flat bed and private door at every seat, it’s an even more luxurious way to fly business class.
When it comes to our customers travelling for meetings and events, we offer flexible travel options to suit them, with seamless connections and award-winning on-board service. Additionally, we are a member of oneworld events, a one-stop shop for making attending meetings and business events easy.
So, here’s to the last 100 years, but more importantly here’s to the next 100 years. There’s never been a more exciting time to fly British Airways.
